Dr. Becca Walton and Morgan Barajas provide advanced veterinary imaging, specialty consultations, and compassionate in-home end-of-life care to veterinary partners throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
Becca Walton, DVM, DACVECC
Dr. Becca Walton grew up in Southern California and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2012. She then completed a rotating internship at the University of Minnesota followed by a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at North Carolina State University.
After residency, Dr. Walton joined Iowa State University, where she helped develop and build the Emergency and Critical Care Service, serving patients, clients, and veterinary students for seven years. She ultimately returned home to Southern California to pursue her passion for emergency and critical care, advanced imaging, and collaborative patient care.
Throughout her career, Dr. Walton has cared for patients during some of the most critical moments of their lives. Her expertise in emergency medicine naturally expanded into advanced diagnostic imaging and specialty consultation, allowing her to partner with primary care veterinarians in the management of challenging medical cases. She is passionate about providing high-quality ultrasound services and collaborative consultations that help keep patients within the care of their trusted family veterinarians whenever possible.
Her experiences in emergency and critical care have also shaped her philosophy that pets deserve dignity, comfort, and compassion—not only in healing, but also in their final moments. Through in-home euthanasia, Dr. Walton helps families say goodbye in the comfort and familiarity of home, creating a peaceful, loving environment free from the stress and anxiety that can accompany a hospital visit.
Dr. Walton chose veterinary medicine because of her lifelong love of animals, her fascination with medicine, and her passion for teaching and collaboration. She values strong partnerships with referring veterinarians and is committed to supporting both the veterinary community and the families they serve.
Morgan Barajas, RVT, VTS (Emergency & Critical Care)
Morgan Barajas is a Registered Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Technician Specialist (Emergency & Critical Care) with more than 15 years of experience in small animal practice, emergency medicine, and specialty care. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to providing exceptional nursing care for critically ill patients while supporting both veterinary teams and pet families during some of their most challenging moments.
Morgan has a special passion for emergency and critical care medicine, advanced patient management, and end-of-life care. She believes every pet deserves compassionate, individualized care and that every family deserves kindness, honest communication, and unwavering support. Her calm, reassuring presence helps keep patients as comfortable as possible while guiding families through difficult decisions with empathy and understanding.
Working alongside Dr. Rebecca Walton, Morgan is committed to delivering exceptional patient care through collaboration, advanced medical expertise, and genuine compassion. Together, they strive to provide seamless support for referring veterinarians while ensuring pets and their families receive the highest standard of care.
Chris McLaughlin, DVM, DACVECC, DACVIM(Cardiology)
Dr. Chris McLaughlin is a board-certified specialist in both Emergency and Critical Care and Cardiology. Originally from Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College before completing a rotating internship at the Ontario Veterinary College.
He completed his residency in Emergency and Critical Care at North Carolina State University in 2016 and subsequently practiced at two large specialty referral hospitals in South Florida. During his time as Director of Emergency and Critical Care, he developed a passion for minimally invasive interventional procedures, inspiring him to pursue a second residency in Cardiology at North Carolina State University. He completed his cardiology residency in 2023 and is board-certified in both specialties.
Dr. McLaughlin has extensive experience diagnosing and treating congenital and acquired heart disease in dogs and cats, with a particular interest in minimally invasive interventional cardiology. He finds it especially rewarding to help puppies and kittens with congenital heart defects achieve long, healthy lives through advanced procedures. His dual training also provides unique expertise in the management of critically ill cardiopulmonary patients, including those with congestive heart failure, complex arrhythmias, and other challenging cardiac emergencies.
Above all, Dr. McLaughlin values the relationships he builds with pet owners and referring veterinarians. He believes the best outcomes are achieved through collaboration and strives to be a trusted partner in every patient’s care, ensuring families and their primary veterinarians remain actively involved in treatment decisions and long-term management.
